Experience/Background Stans brings over 25 years of software development management experience to her practice as an Executive coach and Management consultant. As a former VP of Engineering at Sun Microsystems, Stans created an integrated development organization after two acquisitions, led worldwide organizations in multiple time zones and was a key player on the team that created the Java platform. Her extensive business expertise (both in Europe, the US and Asia) has served her clients well as she can relate to their day-to-day work life and their business challenges while making the necessary changes. Coaching: Stans has coached many executives and senior professionals of technology, marketing, and operational organizations. Her focus areas are leadership skills, career development and career transitions. Consulting and Facilitating: Stans has worked extensively with leaders of global teams on effective communications, distributed global development and effective team leadership. She oftentimes uses the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) in team building settings. Education/Certification Stans holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the Computer Science College of Eindhoven, the Netherlands. She is a Certified coach through New Ventures West in San Francisco and is a qualified Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) instructor. Publications/Affiliations/Achievements Stans was awarded the Sun Leadership award during her Sun tenure and the TWIN (Tribute to Women in Industry) award by the YWCA of Silicon Valley. She serves on the board (and is Treasurer) of the Global Fund for Women based in San Francisco and on various other community-based organizations.
