Experience/Background
Julie Engel, Ph.D. is an executive coach, organization development and team development consultant, facilitator, and researcher working with executives and managers to be more resourceful, grounded, and wise as they navigate the ever-changing, fast-moving, uncertain, challenging, and demanding circumstances of their work and the world. A focus of her practice is working with clients across private, public and civil society sectors who are committed to being catalysts for change. Julie has coached leaders and managers as they grow or scale their organizations, balancing vision and operations, as well as technical staff as they move into management and leadership roles. Julie works with staff at all levels to cultivate their ability to lead from wherever they sit in their organization.
Julie is on the faculty of New Ventures West, an International Coach Federation accredited coaching school, a core team member at Babson College Social Innovation Lab and a founding faculty member for the Master in Design for Social Innovation program at the School for Visual Arts (New York). Julie was Senior Research Associate at the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship for five and a half years supporting executives and managers in effectively catalyzing change toward more responsible and sustainable business practice through applied research, consultation, coaching and facilitating a peer-to-peer learning network of corporate responsibility executives from fourteen Fortune 500 companies.

Julie's clients have included Verizon, Levi Strauss, Abbott Labs, AMD, Google, Celgene, Cisco, Worksource Partners, International Rescue Committee, Justice Resource Institute, Net Impact, Ashoka and NASA.
Education/Certification
Julie earned an M.A. and a Ph.D. of Sociology (Boston College) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (School of the Museum of Fine Arts/Tufts University). Her professional coach training includes New Ventures West's Integral Coach certification, International Coach Federation, Professional Coach Certification, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Level 1, and Hakomi Experiential Psychotherapy Comprehensive (current).
